30 Minutes or Less

Caribbean Style Stew

This recipe is so frequently made in our house, that it has become a bit of a Gem classic. My brother-in-law buys jerk season in bulk when he flies home from America, as he makes it frequently now too. It’s so easy, packed full of goodness and can suit any leftover meat. It’s a recipe I developed from one I found in a magazine, years ago now. So it was the first recipe I thought of when creating these leftover recipes in partnership with Joseph Joseph. Lyzi made it and I know it has become a firm favourite with her too.

Christmas can be stressful, all that build up for one day. However magical and festive it is, I sort of love the calm after the storm. Leftovers are a huge part of that, the stress of cooking for many has gone. Beautiful cold cuts of meat, piled with pickles and cheese. Pickling is one of my favourite things to do around Christmas time, in fact making jars of all different things brings me so much joy. I intend to hand out handmade gifts this year, I’m attempting chilli jam and different chutneys.

A Sophisticated Halloween Tablescape

Happy Friday the 13th, I thought today would be a great day to share this Halloween inspired tablescape. Halloween is one of my favourite times of year, but being a 31 year old it’s less sweets more sophistication these days. This tablescape is so easy to achieve, some beautiful autumnal foliage, crepe paper, tissue paper and spooky napkins. The supermarkets and places like The Range have some amazing things in at the moment.
