Puffins

Puffins: n, A pizza shaped like a muffin.

Let’s face it, cooking for children can be quite stressful. But what happens when you have to cook for more than one? So I thought I’d introduce ideas for children’s party food. I had this idea when I couldn’t sleep one night, it happens a lot. I keep a notepad on my bed side table, frantically jotting down ideas. I once made Cruffins, which is muffins made from croissant dough. So I used the technical idea but made Puffins instead. Pizza shaped like muffins, using puff pastry.

Chicken Curry

I have been adding the odd recipe to my Instagram stories for the little’s, but they have been so popular that I am making more effort to put some on the blog. After all, Evie’s corner is a place for food for children. I know a lot of parents struggle with what to cook, so I want to be here to help.

Date and Raisin Oatmeal Cookies

These cookies are so amazingly simple to make, absolutely delicious and the great thing is that they contain no sugar, butter or salt. Completely vegan and if you source your oats correctly, gluten free too. You don’t have to mess about with flours or measuring baking soda, all you need are a few ripe bananas. A fuss free snack, perfect for little fingers…and adults, guys they are yummy!

Breakfast Smoothie

For a long time, the main meal I struggled with when Evie went on to full solids was breakfast. I’ll admit, for a long time she just ate wholewheat toast. But I felt so bad that her first meal of the day was boring bread, that I looked in to different ways of adding a little more excitement. Evie loves fruit, I think she’d be happy eating it for every meal. But like every toddler, she has her favourites. She’ll eat a heap of strawberries, pears, bananas, grapes, blackberries but try and give her a blueberry and most the time she’ll spit it out. So I disguised a way of mixing the faves with the ‘spitjects’ as I call them.
