Autumnal Tablescape

Eating outside doesn't have to stop now that we are heading in to autumn, I kind of prefer sitting out when it gets a little cooler. Hopefully, we aren't quite over sunny evenings just yet albeit getting darker a little earlier. But that is the beauty of candles, a fire pit and resisting the cold bite just long enough until you desperately need a jumper.

This tablescape is a final goodbye to summer and a very welcome hello to my favourite season. Combining the last burning colours of what was once, bright beaming hydrangeas. With the rich hues of apples, deep greens of moss and berry leaves with natural dinnerware.

Add in some seasonal squash that you can later chop and stir in to delicious, comforting meals and you have a table setting to impress friends and family. You can pick up the squash in the supermarket now, the hydrangeas are picked from my garden, fake moss from eBay and tablemats are from Ikea. I added tea lights to dessert glassware and surrounded them with cuttings of fresh eucalyptus. Berry branches are set in simple glass bottles, adding height to the low setting without being intrusive.

But the star of the show has to be this amazing dinnerware set from Habitat, a gift from my Husband. It is so beautifully handmade and rustic, that I actually went back and bought two serving bowls to accompany it. Each item is just slightly different and I feel it fits with this theme perfectly.
