I have written a book and I realised I hadn’t written a blog post about it yet. So, I am here to tell you that from today you can officially buy my eBook, In Season: Autumn. It’s a collection of 30 vegan and vegetarian recipes that are perfect for my favourite time of year. Think cosy, comforting and nourishing dishes. Things like butternut squash soup, mac and cheese, squash stew, spiced pumpkin bread and blackberry porridge.
I have worked on it all through the summer and it has been an absolute joy for me to create. As a result, everything else in my life seemed to take a bit of a back seat, including this blog. Take this as an apology, but I hope that the book makes up for it. It is no secret that autumn is my favourite season, creating a book for it just made sense.
Here’s what people have said about the book so far:
Gem has created a beautiful, cosy book full of family friendly recipes that are perfect for autumn. Encapsulating her food philosophy for using seasonable, local ingredients, this book has sustainability at its core. With a range of vegan and vegetarian recipes, that will keep you warm and nourished during the colder months. This book is a love letter to the abundance of autumnal produce grown in the UK. – Hannah
This collection of tempting, achievable and encouraging recipes makes me love autumn even more than I already do. I didn’t think that was possible, but that’s the magic of The Mother Cooker. More books please, Gem. – Lottie
Gem’s brilliant new book is full of simple, beautiful photography and really accessible recipes that are perfect if you have either an allotment full of home grown veg, or you’re simply just looking to celebrate the seasons and become more intentional about everyday eating. It’s full of food I want to cook and eat for dinner. Both when I’ve been really busy, and when I’ve got the time to make something that little bit special from the breakfast, dessert and drinks chapters. – Rachel
A few years ago, Gem told me that she dreamt of writing a cookbook. I had no doubt from the moment those words left her mouth that she would succeed in doing so. In Season: Autumn is the culmination of many years of hard work and exploration into seasonal foods. While Gem’s passion for creating delicious recipes is apparent, it’s the thought behind this approach that really makes this cookbook special. If you’re on the hunt for delicious vegetarian and vegan recipes that pack a punch, but also contribute to making our world a better place, this is your autumn kitchen essential. I say, bring on winter! – Emma
I love Gem’s cookbook! I’ve fallen in love with cooking seasonally thanks to her, and her recipes are easy and so tasty! I’m not the most confident of cooks but her recipes are always worth a go! – Ghenet
